Polyhymnia · Daily Eloquence

About

Polyhymnia takes one American expression a day and reads it closely: what it means, where it lives, and — the part we care most about — why it works. Not vocabulary drills. Rhetoric, in street clothes.

Every entry is checked against real native usage before it ships. Attributions are honest asides, never transcripts; examples are written fresh for each entry. If we can't verify something, we don't say it.

Polyhymnia was the muse of hymns and eloquence — the quiet one, usually shown mid-thought. That's the register we aim for: a well-read friend who notices why a phrase lands, one phrase at a time.
